This PROJECT IS A STANDARD LOW BID PROJECT and includes ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION. Contract No. DGS 0700-0047 Phase 5.1 - General Construction Contract No. DGS 0700-0047 Phase 5.3 - Plumbing Construction Contract No. DGS 0700-0047 Phase 5.4 - Electrical Construction The project includes reconstruction of exterior walls and repairs to masonry at the Main and East Halls and Main Arena as described by this Section, other specifications and the drawings. 1.4 CONTRACT DURATION A. The Construction contract duration shall be 517 calendar days commencing on the date of the initial job conference. 1.5 WORK INCLUDED A. The Work of this Project consists of, but is not limited to, the following. Detailed requirements of the Work are described in the pertinent specification Sections and/or shown on the Drawings. Below is a summarized list of the scope of work items. 1. Demolition and reconstruction of the composite, CMU and brick east wall of the Main and East Halls. 2. Replacement of the east wall described above includes, but is not limited to the following ancillary work: a. Removal, salvage and reinstallation of stainless-steel door frames and hollow metal doors. b. Removal, salvage and reinstallation of overhead coiling doors. c. Replacement of steel windows with new thermally broken steel windows and insulating glazing. d. Removal and replacement of electrical items, conduit and wire that are attached to the wall. e. Demolition of abandoned electrical items that are attached to the wall. f. Removal and replacement of plumbing items that are attached to the wall. g. Demolition of abandoned plumbing items attached to the wall. 3. Masonry repairs to the east and north elevations of the Main Arena including, but not limited to, the following: a. Repointing of brick work. b. Replacement of spalled brick with new brick. c. Crack repair within the brick. d. Removal and replacement of cast stone copings with new cast stone copings. e. Repairs to cracks and spalling in exposed portions of the poured-in-place concrete at the base of the wall, and coating of the concrete with a waterproof coating. 4. Removal and replacement of the exterior doors at the north elevation/north lobby of the Main Arena. 5. Removal and replacement of the concrete stair at the north elevation/north entrance to the main arena. Direct all questions pertaining to the project to the Project Professional utilizing the e-Builder Enterprise Software Program (e-Builder) as described in the Instructions to Bidders. PROJECT TITLE: Farm Show Complex - East Wall Repairs ESTIMATED RANGE: .4 Electrical - $300,000 - $400,000 LIQUIDATED DAMAGES = (.4) $500.00 per day. There is no Bid Guaranty required for this Project. Contract Point SDB Participation Goal VBE Participation Goal General Construction 10.00 3.00 The Department of General Services Public Works and the Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion and Small Business Opportunities (BDISBO) identified this procurement as eligible for the setting of Small Diverse Business (SDB) and/or Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) participation goals. However, BDISBO did not set SDB and/or VBE participation goals for those procurements that are less than the $600,000 threshold required to set either goal. In addition, there will be no points allocated toward SDB/SB participation for this procurement. This is a significant programmatic change from the SDB and SB Participation program contained in prior Projects issued by Public Works. Bidders now must agree to meet the SDB and VBE Participation Goals in full or demonstrate that they have made Good Faith Efforts to meet the Goals. Refer to the Instructions to Bidders section regarding Small Diverse Business and Veteran Business Enterprise Participation for further information.
