Request for Qualifications submissions from qualified contractors and construction managers who are interested in the opportunity to submit a Construction Manager at Risk proposal to provide pre-construction and construction services for the new Willard-Sherwood Health and Community Center facility. The project is a joint development partnership between Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax. The project site is located at 3750 and 3740 Old Lee Highway in the City of Fairfax. Questions related to this request for qualifications should be directed to Ms. Deepa Joshi of the Building Design and Construction Division at 703-324-5128 or by email to deepa.joshi@fairfaxcounty.gov The general scope of work for the proposed project includes demolition of approximately 30,000 square feet of the existing County-owned Joseph Willard Health Center and replacement with a new Willard-Sherwood Health and Community Center of approximately 95,000 square feet that connects to the existing City-owned Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, to include the County's Health and Human Services programs, Office for Children's programs, expanded programs associated with the City's Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, structured parking, and associated site improvements. Fairfax County and the City retains the option to modify or include additional uses pending the outcome of the conceptual design study. It is to be noted that the existing Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center is to remain. Per the County's Operational Energy Strategy, the project has a goal to meet Net Zero Energy standards and achieve minimum requirement of LEED Gold Certification with 50% energy performance improvement. The project will also be designed to be all electric with electric equipment and appliances.
