The Town of Fairfield (Town) on behalf of its Conservation Department is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary to provide and install a new Bird Observation Blind Structure in the Town Open Space land located at 760 Oldfield Road, Fairfield, Connecticut as specified. Product Specification Exterior Wood Siding: Plywood Siding Panel, Texture 1-11, Pressure-treated, 9/32" thickness, size 4'x 8' Interior Flooring: 3/4 " Ground Contact Pressure-treated Plywood Roofing Material: 5/8" CDX Plywood. Class F- Asphalt Shingles installed for 110 MPH Wind. Aluminum Drip Edge. Hinged connections at top of the three (3) walls containing framed openings for 120mph wind rating. Siding Color: Cabot Stain or Owner Approved Equal Roofing Shingle shall be proposed by Awarded Bidder and approved by Town. Product shall be non-combustible, 30-Year Manufacturer's Warranty, Superior Rot Resistance, Impervious to Termite damage, resistant to warping/expansion. Footings: Shall meet all specifications as detailed in the Drawing. All fasteners shall be Stainless Steel. Addenda will not be mailed, e-mailed or faxed out. Written requests for information will not be accepted after 12:00pm on Thursday, 21st April, 2022. Verbal requests for information via phone or other means will not be accepted.Failure to comply with these conditions will result in the bidder waiving the right to dispute bid specifications and conditions, no exceptions. Any sizes or estimate of quantities as shown on drawings are approximate and are not guaranteed in any respect. Prospective bidders are to visit the site to verify scope of the work, measurements, quantities, etc., prior to bidding. The Town reserves the right at all times to increase or decrease the amount of work if deemed in its best interest. Price is to include all labor, materials, tools, equipment, plant, mobilization, permits, insurances, etc., required to properly complete the project. The Bidder must not discriminate, nor permit discrimination, against any person on the grounds of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap, or veteran status, in their employment practices, in any of their contractual arrangements, in all service and accommodations they offer to the public, and in any of their other business operations. The successful bidder MUST secure all required permits (local, state, federal) prior to commencing work on the site. The awarded Contractor will have access to the site immediately upon award of contract and all work must be completed in a timely manner. Time is of the essence. All work time must be coordinated with the Project Engineer. Award of the project, either partial or in its entirety, is contingent upon funding approval by the applicable boards of the Town of Fairfield, including state and federal agencies.
