This work generally consists of, but is not limited to, the purchase and installation of an automated gate system at Murphy Boulevard to stop traffic during high water events at the low water bridge. The system will include gates east and west of Joplin creek as well as a high-water indicator at the low water bridge crossing, flashing warning lights, video camera system, and electronic notification system All questions concerning the bid document preparation can be directed to the City of Joplin at 417-624-0820 extension 1531. A bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount must accompany each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of his bid and shall before entering on the work of said contract be licensed as a contractor of the City of Joplin, Missouri. The Director of Public Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The bid bond of the successful bidder will be retained until the payment bond and performance bond have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such bidder fails to satisfy the owner that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work contemplated therein
