Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Wheaton, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Project overview: Main components of work involve brick and limestone masonry restoration, exterior wood and stucco removal and replacement, exterior wood restoration, wood window restoration, wood window and door replacement, slate roofing repair, low-slope roof replacement, site drainage improvements, concrete and asphalt paving, and concrete sidewalk removal and replacement. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois Public Museum Grant program. This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. The contractor shall also abide by the employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act (30 ILCS 570, sec 1-7). Consideration of contract award will likely be made on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids on the project and successful contract bidders are encouraged to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction. The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
