DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All work for the Project shall be constructed in accordance with the Specifications prepared by the Owner. Bids shall be submitted for demolition, disposal, furnishing, delivering, and installing all materials, equipment, and services, including labor for the Work, which generally involves the following activities Milling and resurfacing approximately 2.76 miles of residential roadway along with completion of minor drainage improvements. Road segments included in this resurfacing project include the following: 1. South Blvd.- From Highway 44 to Druid Road- 0.52 Miles 2. Hiawatha Ave.- From Tuttle St. to S Montgomery Ave.- 0.63 Miles 3. Tina Ave.- From Hiawatha Ave. to S Montgomery Ave.- 0.16 Miles 4. Heights Ave.- From Highway 44 to Tuttle St.- 0.13 Miles 5. Tuttle St.- From Pleasant Grove to South Blvd.- 0.24 Miles 6. Poinsettia Ave.- From Tuttle St. to S Montgomery Ave.- 0.49 Miles 7. Orvista Cir.- From Pleasant Grove to Druid Road - 0.12 Miles 8. Wilda Ave.- From Pleasant Grove to Druid Road - 0.22 Miles 9. Camelia Ave.-From West Highland Blvd. to Druid Road - 0.25 Miles CONTRACT TIME: Construction time to achieve Substantial Completion is 90 consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed, with an additional 30 consecutive calendar days to achieve Final Completion (120 days total). BID SECURITY: A 5% bid security will be required for this project, if contract price exceeds $100,000. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND: The Owner will require that the Contractorfurnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price, if it exceeds $100,000. All Payment and Performance Bonds shall be secured from or countersigned by an agency or surety company recognized in good standing and authorized to do business in the State of Florida. The City of Inverness reserves the right to waive formalities, waive any technical defects, reject any and all bids, and accept any bid which represents the lowest and best offer to the City.
