The City of Denison is requesting proposals for qualified recycling contractors to service our residential customers. All services are to be performed by persons who are appropriately licensed or registered in Texas under State, local and/or Federal laws governing the practice of recycling. The Service Provider will collect recyclable materials from residential units every other week; provided that such recyclable materials are placed in a recycling cart provided by the Service Provider, and such recycling containers are placed with five (5) feet of the curbside or right of way adjacent to the residential unit no later than 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. The City intends to award a new franchise agreement for the collection of recyclable materials from residents ("Collection Services"). The successful proposer ("Service Provider") shall begin to provide Collection Services for an initial term of five years, beginning on February 1, 2023. The new franchise agreement will expire on January 31, 2028, unless it is renewed and extended. The new franchise agreement may be extended annually, for up to three (3) additional years.
