Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Tipton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a 9,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Tipton Concession, Sidewalk & Fencing Project - Tipton HS Football Stadium, Tipton City Park, Corner of Plum St and Park Rd, Tipton, Iowa. If a Contractor has previously attended a pre-bid meeting for this project, they're not required to attend this pre-bid. However, to be eligible to NOT ATTEND, Contractor is REQUIRED to contact Construction Manager and receive written approval prior to Pre-Bid date. Without that approval, Attendance is Mandatory. Demolish existing concession stand, and Build new Concession Stand, provide new Sidewalks, a Retaining Wall and Fencing as described in the construction documents. Modifications and improvements include but not limited to selective demolition, utilities, site work, concrete, rough carpentry, thermal insulation, metal roofing, hollow metal doors and frames, door hardware, tile, paint, toilet accessories, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Bidders will be required to provide security deposit in the form of a Bid Bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, cashiers or certified check drawn on a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of a sum not less than 5 percent of the Base Price/ Sum. The bid security should be made payable to the Tipton Community School District. The bid security must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. The bid security shall be forfeited to the District as damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within 10 days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and the maintenance of said work, if required, pursuant to the provisions of this notice and the other contract documents. The lowest responsive, responsible bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Certificates and Policies of Insurance, Labor and Material Payment Bond (equal to 100% of the contract amount), Performance Bond ( equ al t o 10 0% of the co nt r a ct amo unt) and any other documents as stated in the Construction Documents. State Sales Tax: This project is tax exempt. DO NOT include state sales tax in any calculation of bid totals. Contractors will be provided Iowa Sales Tax exemption certificate(s) for this project. Bids will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. In accordance with Iowa statutes, a resident bidder shall be allowed a preference as against a nonresident bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country gives or requires any preference to bidders from that state or foreign country, including but not limited to any preference to bidders, the imposition of any type of labor force preference, or any other form of preferential treatment to bidders or laborers from that state or foreign country. The preference allowed shall be equal to the preference given or required by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. In the instance of a resident labor force preference, a nonresident bidder shall apply the same resident labor force preference to a public improvement in this state aswould be required in the construction of a public improvement by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. All bidders must provide a statement regarding the bidder's resident status. This statement shall be on the Bidder Status Form designated by the Iowa Department of Labor commissioner and available online. The statement must be signed by an authorized representative of the bidder. Failure by any bidder to provide a completed statement with its bid may result in the Board of Education rejecting the bid as non-responsive. Further consideration of the Bids received, and award of contracts or other action may be made by the Board of Education of the Tipton Community School District upon proposals received in accordance with law and plans and specifications at its meeting to be held on the 9th day of May 2022 in the District Board Room, Tipton Community School District, located at 400 E 6th St., Tipton, IA. 52772 (563)-886- 6121 The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, and to and waive in formalities or irregularities allowed by law and to enter into such Contract or Contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of the Tipton Community School District. All work is to be performed and completed under the guidelines of OSHA and in strict compliance all applicable laws , rules and regulations a n d with the plans and specifications prepared by Modern Design Architects Inc., which have heretofore been approved, subject to public hearing, by the Titpon Community School District. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. Plans and specifications governing the construction of the proposed improvements, and also the prior proceedings of the Board of Education referring to and defining said proposed improvements are hereby made a part of this notice and the proposed contract by reference. All bids will be governed by applicable provisions in the Iowa Code and Board Policies, including its Non-Discrimination Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Policy.
