The qathet General Hospital Pharmacy Upgrade Project involves the renovation of the three existing adjacent conference rooms into a hazardous drug (HD) Clean Room, non-HD clean room, anteroom, staff change room and preparation area, resulting in a net space gain of approximately 64m2. A major component of this project involves new mechanical equipment that will be installed on housekeeping pads in the courtyard, as well as the roof of the hospital. A modular clean room supplier - Mecart has been retained for the supply and installation of the clean rooms and anteroom and HD Storage Room which will be installed in February/March 2023. The project will be completed in two phases to enable the pharmacy to remain operational. Upon completion, this project will bring the pharmacy up to NAPRA (National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities) standards for sterile compounding infrastructure.
