This work shall include, but is not limited to, excavation and removal of the roadway, sidewalks, curbs; drainage improvements including installation of storm sewer pipes, catch basins, and manholes; new water main installation including pipes, connections, and a new fire hydrant; new sanitary installation includes sanitary sewer pipes and manholes; asphalt paving of the new roadway with installation of concrete sidewalks, curb ramps, driveway approaches, and curb and gutter; installation of street lighting; and site restoration of topsoil, sodding, and pavement markings in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. The Contractor will also be responsible for maintenance of traffic and erosion control within the project limits. For this bid, the next deadline to submit an application is April 25th, 2022 and then corresponding meeting date is April May 2nd, 2022. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The City of Hammond reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The City of Hammond further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the City of Hammond or to reject all bids. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of Hammond or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required.
