Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Alton, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Upper Credit Pedestrian Bridge project involves the construction of a new bridge crossing over the Credit River, and the restoration of the bank and channel profile. An existing wooden superstructure on concrete abutment bridge is to be removed, allowing for the stream profile to be widened and restored. Trail regrading and restoration to tie into the proposed structure are also included in the Work. Work of this Contract comprises the following: - Demolish and disposal of existing pedestrian bridge and abutment - Restore channel profile and complete site grading - Temporary flow passage system(s) (i.e., coffer dam) construction. Fish rescue by CVC/Owner's Own Forces. - Dewatering and sediment control - Creation of new bed and both banks - Construct new pedestrian bridge abutments - Supply and install new 15.4m span steel pedestrian bridge (weathering steel truss and timber deck) - Re-establishment of granular trail - Restoration of disturbed areas (topsoil, seeding, erosion control, rip-rap, riverstone). Owner only provides plans and specs to their prequalified contractors. Interested sub trades, manufacturers and suppliers should contact the prequalified contractors.
