Scope of Services The City of El Centro Alder Sewer Repair Project consists of the replacement of a segment of the Alder Sewer Main that runs through the retired airstrip south of Even Hewes Highway. The project is split into two separate bid phases, both of which are replacing existing 27-inch diameter corrugated PVC. The pipeline will be replaced in the same trench, requiring bypassing of the sewage to ensure service is not interrupted. Other major project items include excavating of the pipeline trench sections per Cal-OSHA requirements, backfilling of the pipeline sections, pipeline testing, geotechnical testing, bypass pumping of sanitary sewer flows, and the removal and disposal of the existing pipeline sections.
