The Engineer/Architect for the project is Rindt-McDuffAssociates, Inc. The approximate extent and character ofthe Work is generally described as follows: This project will involve the milling and paving ofArnold Lane, along water & stormwater improvements, with the possible addition ofsidewalks on the east side of Arnold Lane. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 120-160 days from the date ofnotice to proceed. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance ofthe contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection ofthe OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) ofthe total amount payable by the terms ofthe contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds with the executed Agreement meeting the requirements ofthe Contract Documents and executed on the forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary ofState to do business in the State of Georgia. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day ofthe Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as, "Fiscal Year - Project Name and Project If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope to the attention ofthe OWNER at the address previously given. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise. The OWNER is not obligated to consider a Bidder's proposal, ifBidder is not on record with the State of Georgia Department ofTransportation as a qualified contractor.
