For a Contractor to install an outside 25'x50' concrete basketball court east of the existing parking lot at the Alternative Educational Academy (AEA) site located at 40 W. M-55 in Tawas City, MI. The contract will include minor demolition, removal of a tree, removal and reinstallation of existing chain link fencing, excavation, sand fill and subbase preparation, concrete slab placement and the installation of two basketball posts, hoops and backboards. The plans and specifications cover all of the work. Bid bonds are required. Payment and performance bonds will be required. Engineered drawings and specifications have been prepared by Russo Engineering, Inc. Davis-Bacon wage rates will not apply. There will be no organized site visit. Deliberation will take place at the next school board meeting after due diligence has been performed on the low bidder(s). Bids are to be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as, "IRESA AEA Basketball Court Bid". The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, however it is intended to make award of a firm, fixed-price contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based upon the rules outlined in the Bid Form. Construction is intended to commence on/after June 10, 2022 following the end of the school year. The project must be completed within 60 days and no later than August 13, 2022 when staff members return for the next school year. No liquidated damages will be assessed. No construction estimate has been calculated.
