Miami County, Indiana, by and through the Miami County Economic Development Authority, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will receive sealed bids for the abatement, demolition, and site restoration of the Former Control Tower and Building 14 at Grissom Air Reserve Base, near Peru, Indiana. All prime contractors, subcontractors, small, minority or women owned enterprises and other interested parties are invited to attend. All interested citizens are invited to attend, and should any citizens require special provisions, such as handicapped modifications or non-English translation personnel, the Owner will provide such provisions as long as the request is made by Monday, April 18, 2022. The Project will be conducted in Three (3) Stages, defined and outlined as follows: Stage 1 Pre-Demolition Work will include all notifications, insurance, and project documentation. The scope also includes removing any PCB Ballast light fixtures, any mercury thermostats, removing and disposing of limited miscellaneous chemicals and an asbestos abatement. An asbestos inspection of the building identified friable asbestos or ACBM which could become friable during demolition. The scope of work includes removal of the asbestos according to State and Federal laws and industry standard practices. Abatement of approximately 825 square feet of cement board; 900 square feet of friable floor tile; 22 linear feet of TSI; 300 linear feet of window caulk/glazings and other ACM. Questions regarding this bid specification shall be directed to Jacob Teuschler and shall be submitted on or before April 26, 2022, by 12:00 noon (local time). Questions will be answered publicly in the form an Addendum and submitted to the prime contractors who attended the prebid meeting and/or the prime contractors who requested the bid specifications by contacting Jacob Teuschler. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days.
