Newtown Public Schools is soliciting proposals for refuse removal and recycling services for its school buildings. This request for proposal (RFP) shall be for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2022. The Town of Newtown is a member of the Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority (HRRA) and as such all prospective bidders shall be a registered member of the HRRA. The selected bidder shall be in compliance with HRRA regulations for the proper disposal of solid waste and recycling. Any questions should be directed to Bob Gerbert, Director of Facilities, by email to: GerbertR@newtown.k12.ct.us All pricing submitted in a bid package shall be valid for ninety (90) days. There shall be no collusion with other prospective bidders and a bid submission will be construed as evidence that the submitted bid price was derived independently without collusion with other bidders. Following the bid opening, the Newtown Board of Education will review all received bid packages. The selected bidder will receive a Purchase Order from the Newtown Board of Education to proceed with the specified services. The Newtown Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all proposals if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Newtown Board of Education.
