The Project is to design street improvement on Pacific Avenue from Mission to 45th Street with curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveway approach, drainage and street intersection treatment etc. Pacific will have one lane each direction, striped median turn lane, on-street parking/loading, and bike lane Sharrows, stripping and signage. Pedestrian RRFB flashers and bulb outs will be required at all intersections as shown on attached exhibit. Segregating the walking facilities from the vehicles will provide a substantially safer environment for pedestrians and the marked bike route will remind drivers that Pacific Avenue is a multi-modal corridor and caution when driving is essential and provide another link in the citywide bikeway system that will continue north on Pacific Avenue. Conceptual improvement plans can be found in Exhibit B. These are conceptual in nature and improvements/modifications shall be made and agreed to by the City team and selected consultant. The reconstruction of all existing pavement shall also be included with the project. The consultant will serve as the central coordinator for all activities between the consulting team, City staff, and other agencies. Below is a brief outline of the suggested scope of services.
