Renovation and addition to an educational facility in Kansas City, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 25,000-square-foot educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of August 3, 2023, per owner, this project is no longer happening. This project expands and renovates existing student athlete performance center spaces within both the Swinney Center and the Durwood Stadium. The project would consist of a 25,000 gross square feet (gsf) addition and a 10,000 gsf renovation to the Swinney Center for Men’s and Women’s Basketball student athlete facilities and offices, as well as weight training and sports medicine facilities for all sports. The project would also replace the existing 10,000 gsf Durwood Stadium Training Facility with a new 30,000 gsf facility which will also include enhanced spectator seating and amenities. This project is included in the University of Missouri System's 2022-2026 Preliminary Capital Plan. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
