The District is requesting qualifications and experience information from contracting firms in order to prequalify firms for removing exotic and hazardous trees and vegetation from the District's property. Once qualified, contracting firms will be provided the opportunity to submit technical and cost proposals in the second step of this two-step Solicitation process. The Lake Worth Drainage District (District) manages the water resources for much of southeastern Palm Beach County, providing comprehensive flood control, water conservation and water supply protection to an estimated 700,000 residents and 10,000 acres of agricultural land. The District monitors and controls a complex system of approximately 500 miles of canals and associated rights-of- way, 20 major water control structures and numerous minor structures. The District encompasses approximately 200 square miles in Palm Beach County. The District is bordered on the west by the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, on the east by I-95, on the north by Okeechobee Boulevard and on the south by the Hillsboro canal. The District's main office is located at 13081 S. Military Trail in Delray Beach, Florida 33484. The Lake Worth Drainage District is soliciting Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) from interested firms that can provide the requirements specified herein. Responses should be prepared simply and economically, addressing the requirements in a straightforward and concise manner.
