KING COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM Facilities Management Services Request for Proposal Multiple Library Landscaping Maintenance Services throughout King County The King County Library System is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors for the purpose of obtaining information and firm proposals for Multiple Library Landscaping Services. The King County Library System ("KCLS" or "Owner") is one of the top three largest circulating libraries in the United States. Located in the Puget Sound area, KCLS serves over one million residents at its 49 community libraries and with its Outreach services. Established in 1942, KCLS is a special purpose taxing district that is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees and operates under the constitution and laws of the State of Washington. KCLS has forty-three (43) sites throughout King County-Washington that have landscape. Landscaping at each site must be maintained to KCLS-established standards throughout the year, in order to present a pleasing and safe environment for patrons. Services will include regular maintenance, irrigation and pruning. KCLS requires a Contractor/Vendor who is capable of covering the entire King County area and can still provide individual care of each site. Each library is unique in its layout and patron usage so a one-size-fits-all approach will not work for the entire system.
