Room Modifications Midlothian High School Location- 401 Charter Colony Pkwy Midlothian, VA 23114 I. PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids to provide all property plant and equipment, superintendence, labor, skill and materials for the renovation of Midlothian High School to provide a divided art room and classroom spaces. II. SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS Specifications are included in ATTACHMENT C. Information regarding use of a brand name is addressed in Section V.B. SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS, page 19 item 5. Variance in specifications deemed not to be material, in the sole discretion of the County, may be allowed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Work Shall include, but is not limited to: Addition of new metal stud walls with hollow metal windows and wooden barn style doors to divide the art room. The installation of new laminate-clad casework. Painting, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work as specified. Select removal of concrete masonry unit walls (CMU). Replacing vinyl composite tiles (VCT) and acoustical tile ceilings. Installation of new electrical wiring and light fixtures Installing infrastructure for owner provided audio video equipment. Furnish all engineering for the determination of quantities necessary to conform with applicable drawings and specifications. Installation/relocation of markerboards and tack boards. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and paying for all building permits and other related (sprinkler, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, etc.) permits and shall coordinate all required inspections. All work shall be coordinated with school division representatives to minimize the impact on operations. All work shall commence after 06/03/2022 with substantial completion no later than 08/12/2022.
