As of June 6, 2022, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: 22B1Q Install Fire Alarm System MILITARY AFFAIRS - CHIPPEWA FALLS Install fire alarm system for multistory 44,670 SF facility with monitoring extended from the existing Permar intrusion detection system, and one-way voice annunciation for mass notification. Fire alarm system shall be an addressable, single panel system. Also provide public address speakers to cover the site including MVSB, and the three parking lots. The public address speakers shall be tied into the current internal public address system but shall be switched to allow 1) only external announcements, 2) only internal announcements, and 3) both internal and external simultaneous announcements. The fire alarm speakers and public address systems shall be accessed via the existing phone system for mass notification. There is no fire alarm system in the building. Funding was not sufficient to install fire alarm system at the time of the recent remodeling project. The building is a multi-story structure with a complex floor plan and currently there is no clearly defined way to exit the building.
