Renovation of a municipal facility in Montclair, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The entire work is contained in the bid proposal schedule as shown in EXHIBIT D BID PROPOSAL SCHEDULE . The work is generally described as follows and includes all other appurtenance work required by the RFB: Work under this contract generally includes painting of all Civic Center buildings, block walls, fencing/gates and structures. The complete scope of work is addressed in EXHIBIT ASCHEDULE OF WORK ITEMS. COMPLETION OF WORK: A Notice to Proceed will be issued effective immediately. The contract/agreement shall be valid for one year. REGISTRATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS: Registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is mandatory as a condition for bidding, providing certain services, and working on a public works project as specified in Labor Code Section 1771.1(a). Contractor and any subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations to be qualified to bid, or provide a proposal and/or time and material quote or be listed in a bid, proposal or quote, subject to the requirements of Public Contract Code Section 4104; or engage in the performance of any contract that is subject to Labor Code Section 1720 et seq., unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Contractor and subcontractors will be required to provide proof of registration with the DIR. For more information regarding registration with the Department of Industrial Relations. SPECIAL NOTICE: Bidders are required to inform themselves fully of the conditions relating to construction and labor under which the work will be performed, and the Contractor must employ, so far as possible, such methods and means in the carrying out of its work as will not cause any interruption or interference with any other Contractor. TIME LIMITS OF WORK: The work to be performed shall be completed within 60 working days after execution of contract and Notice to Proceed has been issued. EXECUTION OF CONTRACT: After notification of a proposed contract award date, the successful bidder shall return two (2) notarized copies of the contract with original signatures. The successful bidder shall then return the signed contract insurance within ten (10) working days of the date of the Notice of Award. ASSIGNMENT: The performance of the Contract may not be assigned, except upon the written consent of the Engineer. Consent will not be given to any proposed assignment which would relieve the original Contractor or its surety of their responsibilities under the Contract, nor will the Engineer consent to any assignment of a part of the work under the Contract. SIGNATURE OF CONTRACTOR: Corporations: The signature must contain the name of the corporation, must be signed by at least two corporate officers, but must include the signature of the President. Other persons may sign for the corporation in lieu of the above if a certified copy of a Resolution of the Corporate Board of Directors so authorizing them to do so, is on file in the City Clerk's office. Partnerships: The names of all persons comprising the partnership or copartnership must be stated. The bid proposal must be signed by all partners comprising the partnership unless proof in the form of a certified copy of a certificate of partnership acknowledging the signer to be a general partner is presented to the City Clerk, in which case the General Partner may sign. Joint Ventures: Bid proposals submitted as joint ventures must so state and be signed by each joint venturer. Individuals: Bid proposals submitted by individuals must be signed by the bidder, unless an uptoA- date power of attorney is on file in the City Clerk's office, in which case said person may sign for individual. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS : No bid proposal will be considered from a Contractor who is not licensed as a "C33"contractor, at time of bid. Prior to being awarded the contract, the contractor shall furnish verification of a current California contractor's license number to the City Engineer within two (2) working days after receiving a request for this information. OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City Council of the City of Montclair reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, and to make awards as the interest of the city may require. This notice is given by order of the Council of the City of Montclair, California.
