The project generally consists of the construction of a 1 million gallons prestressed concrete ground storage tank for storage of drinking water at the Chenango Water Plant, located at 1030 North Chenango Street, Angleton, TX 77515. The project also includes installation of the associated piping, valves and appurtenances, electrical and instrumentation and controls systems, water line connections, site grading, drainage and installation of a concrete outfall structure, demolition of existing ground storage tank and water well, and all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals required for this project. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the largest possible total for the bid submitted as a guaranty of completion of the forms provided by the City within 10 days after notice of award. Bid sureties will be returned to all but the three lowest acceptable bidders within 24 hours after execution of the contract. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, upon forms furnished by the City, each in the amount of 100 percent of the total contract price, from a surety company acceptable to the City of Angleton. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all technicalities and accept any bid from the lowest responsible bidder. In case of ambiguity or lack of clarity in stating the prices in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bids. Unreasonable or "Unbalanced" unit prices will be sufficient cause for rejection of any kind. In conformance with applicable statutes, the general prevailing wage rates in the locality in which the work is to be performed have been ascertained and such rates shall be the minimum paid for labor employed upon this project.
