Site work for a water / sewer project in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The scope of the project includes all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to compete the construction as shown on the project plans within the Town of Cedar Lake as follows:The project includes dredging of sediment from Cedar Lake and transport of that sediment to a previously constructed Sediment Dewatering Facility located southwest of the lake. Operation, maintenance, monitoring, and testing of the Sediment Dewatering Facility is also required to meet water quality standards for this project. All mobilization, construction engineering, and as-built surveys are included in this multi-year project. Alternates 1 and 2 include additional dredging volume quantity to be added to the Base Bid dependent on available funding at the time of bid opening and award. This additional quantity shall be completed within the same Contract timeframe and no increases to the unit costs of the Base Bid items 1-4 shall be allowed. Any anticipated increases to unit costs of the Base Bid items 1-4 shall be included in Item 5A and 5B unit costs, respectively. Layout/surveying will be necessary for the work and as-built determination of dredged quantities; therefore, should be included within the bid price. It is important to the Town that the work be conducted in a timely, organized, and sequential manner. The project timeline assumes this work will be completed between 2022 and 2025. The successful bidder must be prepared to commit adequate resources to complete the work within the stated contract schedule. All other questions after the prebid meeting shall be sent in writing to Christopher. B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. via email to Don Oliphant at doliphant@cbbel.com and Jedd Anderson at jedd@cbbel.com. Questions shall be received no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on May 19, 2022. Responses will be provided by no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on May 23, 2022. The engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda, as Engineer considers necessary, in response to questions arising. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the Project name marked clearly on the outside. Bids shall be executed and submitted on the forms provided by the Town including a Bid security, Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Bid forms, Affirmative Action Statement, Non-Collusion Affidavit, E-Verify Documentation, Iran Investments Certificates, and a preliminary progress schedule. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Town of Cedar Lake, or bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price shall be submitted with the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish, execute, and deliver to the Town of Cedar Lake satisfactory performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the Bid Price to guarantee the faithful performance of the Work and payment of suppliers and subcontractors within seven (7) days of the Notice of Award. Contractors must be shown on the Bidder's Planholder List and attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting in order to bid. Bids received by Contractors who are not on the Bidder's Planholder List or who did not attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be rejected. The Town of Cedar Lake reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and the right to waive informalities in the best interest of the Town.
