The project includes, but is not limited to, the following: Earth excavation and pavement removal, Installation of trail with stone base and asphalt surface, Storm sewer installation, Native planting, All other collateral work such as restoration. A contract is expected to be awarded at the May 17, 2022, Park Board meeting. Bid proposals shall be plainly marked, "Jones Meadow Park Trail" and marked "DO NOT OPEN" and be addressed to Ms. Kim Hansen at the Batavia Park District. This is a public works project, which requires payment of prevailing rates of wages for Kane County in accordance with Illinois law. The Owner encourages minority business firms to submit bids for the performance of the Work and the successful bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors and suppliers for labor, equipment, and services. The Batavia Park District reserves the right to reject any and/or all bid proposals or to accept any bid proposal, which in its judgement, will be to the best interest of the public, or to waive any informalities in bidding. Only bid proposals in compliance with the provisions of the Contract Documents will be considered. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date of opening. Description A. This work shall consist of the complete removal of all items called for in the plans and specifications or as otherwise implied in a safe and orderly manner creating as little disturbance as possible. B. All areas indicated for construction of any kind shall be cleared of any debris, undergrowth, weeds, stumps, roots, and marked trees which might interfere with the progress of that work. Unmarked trees or any plant material indicated to be saved by the Owner shall be given special protection as specified.
