Goals for Minority Participation for Each Trade Goals for Female Participation for Each Trade 39.5% Introduction/Background: The National Hurricane Center's (NHC) mission is to save lives, mitigate property loss, and improve economic efficiency by issuing the best watches, warnings, forecasts, and analysis of hazardous tropical weather and by increasing understanding of these hazards. NHC does not currently have adequate space to host visiting collaborative partners (i.e., NOAA Administration, Emergency Statement Managers, FEMA Administration and Governors); VIPS (i.e., Vice President and POTUS) and other collaborative partners; hence hindering the ability of the NHC to properly leverage full alliance with partners. The result of currently inadequate working spaces is more modest participation often at the expense of the forecast process since NHC must currently use limited space on the operations floor. 2. Scope of Work The objective of this project is to renovate the existing eight administrative offices by reconfiguring and improving current foot print with new furniture, re carpeting, and re painting the area; located on the south side of the building. The contractor shall provide a drawing for each office design for NHC approval. And provide all admissions and equipment to fully provide these services. 3. Specifications Front Offices renovation The following offices and area require renovation (as described in the scope of work above). Each have been identified below including estimated dimensions. A drawing of the floor plan will be provided. 1. Director: Office dimensions: 18 feet by 10.5 feet *requires electric adjustable standing desk 2. Administrative Chief: Office dimensions: 11.2 feet by 9.8 feet 3. Deputy Director: Office dimensions: 13.9 feet by 14.7 feet 4. Management Analyst: Office dimensions: 9.5 feet by 12.9 feet 5. Public Affairs Officer: Office dimensions: 9.6 feet by 11 feet 6. Program Specialist: Office dimensions: 9.8 feet by 11 feet *requires electrical adjustable standing desk 7. Transportation Specialist: Office dimensions: 9.4 feet by 11 feet *requires electrical adjustable standing desk 8. Security Desk: Office dimensions: 7 feet by 7 feet 9. Main Hallway: Dimensions: 57.11" feet by 6.1" feet The vendor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment as required for the FO renovation as indicated below. Also, they will provide project supervision and management, daily clean up and disposal of project related debris. Removal and disposal of all existing furniture Removal and disposal of old carpeting within the offices Removal and disposal of old carpeting in the main hallway leading to the offices Prepare floor and install new carpeting in offices and main hallway -carpet sample must be provided and approved by NHC before installation Patch walls and re paint all existing offices -paint samples must be provided and approved by NHC before painting the walls Install new vinyl cove base boards in all offices Build and install new office furniture in each of the offices Mount seven existing televisions on the walls (cables behind the wall) for each office that has one (Director, Admin Chief, Deputy, Management Analyst, Public Affairs, Program Specialist and Transportation Specialist) Mount any wall art -previously installed, back to the offices -vendor will coordinate this with NHC personnel All design costs are to be included in the proposal All work (delivery and installation) shall be done from Monday thru Friday between the hours of 9:00am-4:00pm 4.
