The scope of work includes: excavation, grading, tree removal, erosion control, minor pipe work, and site restoration. The County intends and requires the work to be completed within sixty days from Notice to Proceed. All materials and equipment shall meet the specifications of the Ohio Department of Transportation, and all work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Lorain County Engineer. All contractors involved with this project shall, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. All contractors shall comply with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123. Bidders are hereby notified that this project will be funded by the Lorain County Storm Water Management District, and Grafton Township. All bidders shall comply with the prevailing wage rates for Public Improvements in Lorain County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, (614) 644-2239. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each proposal shall contain the full name or names of persons and bidders who submit the proposal, and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked "Erhart Rd Ditch Restoration." The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, and to waive any informalities or irregularities, if deemed to be in the best interest of Lorain County. Bidders shall direct any request for interpretation, correction or modification of the specifications in writing to the Lorain County Engineer's Office at 247 Hadaway Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Requests must be received at least four (4) working days prior to the date of bid opening.
