Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Dowagiac, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work for which bids are being requested consists of the following: Part 1- Pennsylvania Avenue Parking Lot and Streetscape The project would remove existing curb a gutter along a portion of Pennsylvania Avenue from Commercial Street to Main Street. This would be replaced with new curb and gutter, reconfigured to accommodate new driveway layouts and streetscaping items. Streetscaping items include replacing existing sidewalk and new trees along portions of the block. Both the northern and southern parking lots would be crack sealed and seal coated prior to striping. Part 2- Beeson Sewer Extension This project will replace the Commercial Street parking with a sidewalk and parallel parking and will reroute the existing sanitary sewer from underneath the existing building on the corner of Commercial and Front St. The new sanitary sewer will allow for access in the event repair or cleaning is needed and various appurtenances The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to the OWNER or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bond forms are included in the Contract Documents.
