As of Oct 5 the project is currently under negotiation.A timeline for award has not yet been established yet For Catawba Bend Preserve Natural Trail Construction Additional Documents available from: N/A Questions Deadline: No later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2022 Email: procurement@yorkcountygov.com Each Proposal must be accompanied by a cashier's check or Bid Bond made payable to the OWNER in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Proposal if the total amount of the bid exceeds $30,000. Generally, the bid security of all Offerors, will be returned within ten (10) days after the OWNER and the accepted Offeror have executed the written Contract and the accepted Offeror has filed acceptable Performance and Indemnity and Payment Bonds. Upon request and no earlier than thirty (30) days after the formal opening of proposals, the County will return the bid security of any Offeror. Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed Contract to the OWNER, an Offeror to whom a Contract has been awarded must deliver to the OWNER executed Performance and Indemnity and Payment Bonds on the prescribed forms each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the Contract Amount, as security for the faithful performance of the Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection therewith. The Performance and Indemnity and Payment Bonds shall have as the surety thereon only such surety company or companies as are authorized to write bonds of such character and amount under the laws of the State of South Carolina and with a resident agent in the County in which the project is located. The Attorney-in-Fact or other officer who signs the Performance and Indemnity and Payment Bonds for a surety company must file with such bonds a certified copy of his Power-of-Attorney authorizing him to do so. The Performance and Indemnity and Payment Bonds shall remain in force for one (1) year from the date of final payment of the Work as a protection to the OWNER against losses resulting from latent defects in materials or improper performance of work under the Contract, which may appear or be discovered during that period The Catawba Bend Preserve Master Plan identifies 25 miles of natural trails further described as the Loblolly Trail in the Council approved Master Plan Report (Master Plan attached). Phase 1 of construction includes 8 miles of the Loblolly Trail system. This RFP is for the first 4 miles; approximately 21,120 linear feet of natural trails for pedestrian hiking. 4.2 The Catawba Bend Preserve is in a conservation easement and trail layout and construction should minimize tree removal, follow natural topography and avoid protected streams and wetlands. The trail width will vary, minimum width is 6 feet wide. The trail width may increase based on site conditions (i.e. utilizing portions of existing ATV trails). Existing ATV trail map attached. The trail must have a side slope of no greater than 2:1. Runoff/drainage must be considered in trail layout. Final trail layout and width must be approved by Owner prior to construction. The area is somewhat remote and access is limited. Terrain varies in elevation and is uneven in some areas
