In recognition that climate change remains one of the most pressing challenges of our time, the University of Toronto's St. George campus has committed to becoming climate positive (net negative emissions) by 2050. As part of the launch of the University's Climate Positive plan, the University is proposing a bold project, The Climate Positive Low Emissions Accelerator Program (LEAP), that would see the elimination of half of the campus's current carbon emissions targeted for implementation starting in 2023, with completion in 2025.
