PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to establish a term contract for on-call maintenance and repair services, including inspection of multiple types of roof systems and related building envelope construction, for SCPS campuses on an on-call, as-needed basis. SCPS may opt to make multiple contract awards from this Solicitation. 2. SPECIFICATIONS / SCOPE OF WORK Contractor shall provide all necessary parts, labor, tools, materials, equipment and resources and may be required for roofing and envelope repair services. Whenever the following terms are used in said specifications, in any of the contract documents, or in the plans the intended meaning of such terms shall be as follows: "State", "Owner" or "Commission" shall be replaced by the word Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS). "Engineer" or "Resident Engineer" shall be replaced by the words Project Manager or his duly authorized representative. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all applicable permits prior to beginning any work. The Contractor shall request all applicable inspections as required by local, state and/or federal codes and regulations. The Contractor is responsible for notifying "Miss Utility" 48 hours prior to digging. The Contractor shall designate a Job Manager who shall be on site during any work being performed. SCPS Project Manager shall communicate to the Contractor through the Contractor's Job Manager. The Contractor shall not act on requests or take direction from anyone except the designated Project Manager. Any additional work, which is outside the scope of this contract, or any time extensions shall be approved in writing by the Project Manager prior to starting the work. The Contractor shall provide adequate protection for all structures at the site. Any damage to facilities by the Contractor shall be repaired or replaced at the Contractor's expense and to the complete satisfaction of SCPS. The Contractor shall maintain an adequate supply of manpower and equipment to complete the project in a safe and timely manner. Contractor shall make the areas safe at the end of each work shift. The Contractor shall promptly remove from the premises all work and/or materials condemned by SCPS as failing to conform to the contract, whether incorporated or not, and the contractor shall promptly replace and re-execute condemned work in accordance with the contract and without expense to SCPS and shall bear the expense of making good all work of other Contractor's destroyed or damaged by such removal or replacement. SITE VISITS: The contractor shall be required to conduct site visits. The Contractor shall schedule a site visit with the SCPS Project Manager within five (5) business days of notification by SCPS. The Project Manager or his designee will be onsite to go over what would be required for the particular project. Upon completion of the site visit, the Contractor shall provide a detailed cost proposal within five (5) business days based on the contract unit prices identified herein. All site visits shall be at no cost to SCPS. Upon approve of the cost proposal, SCPS will issue a purchase order. The Contractor shall not provide any good/serviced until a purchase order is in hand. Verbal orders are not acceptable. Contract Term: The initial term of this contract shall be for a period of one year from the date of award with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods, one year at a time, upon mutual written consent of the parties to the contract.
