Bowling Green State University ("Owner") is requesting firms to submit a proposal to provide Master Planning Services for the Main Campus at Bowling Green State University. BGSU is soliciting proposals from qualified architectural and planning firms, including a full complement of subconsultants, for professional services to develop the next phase of BGSU's Campus Master Plan. While this next phase will build upon the successful implementation of the Master Plan's first phase, completed in 2021, the updated Master Plan must recognize that academic experience and needs have significantly changed. The Campus Master Plan is anticipated to include new construction, renovations, repurposing, and right-sizing of facilities for existing programs and new areas of growth in the sciences, healthcare, research, interdisciplinary, instructional, advanced manufacturing, and residence life. The Campus Master Plan will explore ways to maximize functionality of existing facilities, and enhance connections within campus, including the physical and psychological campus separation at Mercer Road, and between campus and the Bowling Green Community. The selected consultant will take the lead in managing a process to reallocate use and functionality of existing facilities in collaboration with Planning, Construction and Campus Operations ("PCCO"). BGSU is developing a set of guiding principles for the Campus Master Plan, that align with "Forward" (the University's Strategic Plan). While the guiding principles will steer the Campus Master Plan, the selected consultant shall create design drivers that will cohesively inform projects stemming from the Campus Master Plan. BGSU's goal is to develop and articulate a vision for the transformation of campus that provides flexibility in order to maximize existing resources, accommodate changing attitudes and the evolving nature of campus environments, and be responsive to ongoing changes and challenges faced by students, staff, faculty, and the greater community of Bowling Green. BGSU is also seeking ways to promote external partnerships in order to strengthen a successful implementation of the Campus Master Plan.
