The contract consists of the weekly collection and disposal of garbage, bulky items and ashes and the weekly collection and processing of recyclable materials from approximately 2,850 residential units and public facilities. The successful bidder will be required to collect no more than six (6) garbage containers, one (1) bulky item, all ashes and all recyclable materials per residential unit per week. The approximate quantity of garbage, bulky items and ashes to be collected is 4,200 tons per year, and the approximate quantity of recyclable materials to be collected is 500 tons per year Each bid must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check, money order or bid bond in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid payable to "Borough of Tamaqua". The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, both in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the annual contract price as awarded, with surety approved by the Borough. The Borough reserves the right to waive any informalities, defects, errors, or omissions or to reject any or all bids or portions thereof.
