The project involves the installation of MDO (medium density overlay, also called sign painters board) over the wall next to Ward Plumadore Park (between the Rusty Nail and Bitters and Bones). MDO Application 1. Seal all edges and surface of 3/4 " MDO panels. Seal any fastener holes. 2. Layout panels with 1/8" gap between adjacent panels. Cut panels and arrange to accommodate mural layout and size. The area for the mural is approximately 1,152 sq. ft. 3. Fasten MDO panels to the concrete surface with counter sunk 3/8" stainless steel expansion anchors, minimum 6 anchors per sheet. Cut 1" long section of SCH 40 PVC pipe to offset panel from wall; place on anchors. Install 1/8" neoprene or rubber washers between pipe section and panel to provide adjustment of panel offset from wall to align with adjacent panels. 4. Construct a frame to install the MDO in the upper right section of the wall, which is set back from the rest of the wall. 5. Follow all manufacturer's instructions for sealing and anchor installation. 6. Clean all debris, broom clean area, properly dispose of debris and remove all excess material and tools from site. Carpentry work to be done in spring or early summer of 2022.
