The Town of Springfield is requesting bids for landscape maintenance to be done throughout the summer of 2022. SCOPE OF WORK: Mowing and trimming at the groundwater monitoring site of approximately 3 acres located at 144 Seavers Brook Road as depicted below; Mowing and trimming of the reclamation site located at 144 Will Dean Road, also depicted below. This work includes all mowing, trimming and brush/sapling removal in an area of approximately 32 acres. This site features a steep embankment and drainage channels on approximately one-third of its area. Detail trimming using handheld equipment will be required where tractors and riding mowers cannot be safely or effectively operated. Mowing and trimming of a small retention pond (usually dry) is required as conditions allow. Extreme care is required on steep sections to preserve the safety of operators and equipment, and to prevent ruts that lead to erosion and compromise the stability of the slopes. The work includes the cutting of any brush or saplings growing in the mowed area and around fences, buildings, structures, and access roads. Sites may be steep and uneven, and include features that are wet and/or only accessible on foot. Contractors will trim and mow all features from the entrance gate including roadsides, drainage channels, and fence lines.
