An addition to an existing elementary school, including six classrooms and two restrooms. The Contractor agrees that from the compensation otherwise paid, the Owner may retain a sum of $750 per day, for each day thereafter, Sundays and holidays included, that the work remains uncompleted, which sum is agreed upon as the proper measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain per diem by the failure of the Contractor to complete the Work at the stipulated time, and the sum is not to be construed in any sense a penalty. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount . The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds. All questions shall be directed to Stephanie Donahoe at electronically. 1. Addenda may be issued during the bidding period. All addenda become part of the Contract Documents. Include resultant cost in the Bid Amount. 2. Verbal answers are not binding on any party. 3. Clarifications requested by a Bidder must be submitted in writing to Stephanie Donahoe prior to 4:00 pm on May 18, 2022. The reply will be in the form on an addendum, a copy of which will be forwarded to all Contractors who have downloaded Bid Documents from the Pickering Associates planroom. 4. It is the responsibility of the Bidding Contractor to make all their Subcontractors aware of such addenda. The minimum wages shall be based on the wages the Secretary of Labor determines to be prevailing for the corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on projects of a character similar to the contract work in the civil subdivision of the State in which the work is to be performed, or in the District of Columbia if the work is to be performed there.
