This is a notice of intent to include brand specific requirements for the Unrestricted, Full-and-Open competition for Design and Construction of the Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The statutory authority for the inclusion of brand specific requirements is FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Fort Worth District intends to include brand specific requirements in its Unrestricted, Full-and-Open competition solicitation in support of the UEPH Barracks program for the design and new construction of UEPH Barracks at Fort Polk, LA, to construct a facility to accommodate 220 soldiers. Brand Name The barrack shall have BEST/Dormakaba series BASIS G model Electronic Key Card Access System and all related components. The BEST/Dormakaba series BASIS G model system is the only system installed at Fort Polk in 36 existing dormitories (2,826 Basis G hardware sets). There are no other systems compatible with the Best/Dormakaba series BASIS G model. DPW OMD has purchased a software license with BASIS and trained it's personnel with operating and maintaining the BASIS key care system.
