Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Nordegg, Alberta. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The existing site consists of a single lagoon and gravel access road from Twp. Rd. 394. The Clearwater County WWTF Upgrades consist of the following construction elements: Receiving Building: A new receiving building. Septage Receiving: The incoming septage will go through pre-treatment by passing through a rock trap for large object collection, and then the muffin monster grinder pump which will reduce any remaining large solids. Dosing Manhole: Dosing wet well complete with submersible pumps; Storage Cell: An expanded storage cell with 12 months storage capacity for 25 years of growth (designed as per current lagoon guidelines). Facultative Lagoon: A facultative lagoon designed for 5-years of growth with space allocation to double the size, if required. Offline Pilot Biofilter-Based Treatment System: An offline pilot biofilter-based treatment system with a vertical flow biofilter (VFB) and horizontal subsurface flow wetland incorporating biofilter (HSSFWIBF) to reduce the ultimate (25 year) facultative lagoon treatment burden and to provide enhanced nutrient removal. Recirculation Vault: Discharge to the lagoon system and Recirculation via Manhole 6 to increase treatment and provide consistent flows.
