The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is interested in receiving submissions to prequalify Construction Managers with proven experience, capability and capacity to undertake complicated postsecondary projects. Project one is for the Mission Campus Redevelopment (MCR): Location: 33700 Prentis Ave. Mission BC V2V 7B1; and includes: Renovation to the existing UFV Mission Campus facilities approximately 1,600 square meters over two floors, including a re-imagining of the main entry to the UFV side of the building. UFV Mission campus is attached to a functioning secondary School, Heritage Middle School, with construction planning during an active academic year. The selected construction manager will be engaged to be part of the core team, working alongside the design team (Thinkspace) and third-party project manager (Altus Group), with oversight from the UFV PMO. The reimagined facility MUST be complete and open for use on August 31, 2023. The anticipated construction budget is $4.5M, subject to scope confirmation. Project two is for the Dining Hall Expansion (DHE): Location: 33844 King Rd, Abbotsford BC V2S 7M8; and includes An interior renovation of the main floor with the addition of a second floor/structure above., updating the Back-of-House (BOH) MEP infrastructure, Building Envelope(BE) integration and exterior landscape renewal of the campus green. The intent is to increase the seating capacity from 120 to 350 to accommodate for the expected growth gained from the new Student Housing project. The selected construction manager will be engaged to be part of the core team, working alongside the design team (Thinkspace) and internal UFV project management team, with oversight from the UFV PMO. The project MUST be complete and open for use on August 31, 2024.
