The awarded Contractor shall be responsible for supplying all materials and labor to complete the project. Enclosed in this Invitation to Bid is a photograph of the existing gazebo, located on the corner of Post Road and Reef Road, Fairfield, CT. This structure is an octagonal gazebo, with wood framing, cedar shingles, and cupola. Staging areas can be designated, however this is a high traffic area with pedestrians and events. Contractor shall stage work progress so that traffic is minimized over completed roofing and protect installed products until completion of project. This job will need to be completed in a timely manner. Time is of the essence. The Awarded Contractor will be responsible for removing and disposing of existing roofing materials, as well as installing a new roof meeting the following requirements. Make safe work may be required. All work shall need to be scheduled with the Building Maintenance Manager. Replacement of plywood is not anticipated for this project. The cupola shall be left in place and is not included in the scope of work for this project. Ice and snow shield membrane by Grace Construction Products, or Owner approved equal, shall be installed on the entirety of the roof. Preferred Shingle Brand: 18" Treated Certi-last Perfection Cedar Shingles Approximately 1000 sq. ft. of Certi-last perfection cedar shingles to replace existing. All cedar products to be installed according to the Cedar Shake and Shingle Bureau recommendations. Ridge Shingles shall match existing. Exposure: Roof shingles are to be 18" red cedar #1 perfections 5" exposure, same exposure as field of roof. Quantity: Eight (8) - 1" x 8" x 16' AZEK(R) Trim fascia (or Owner Approved Equal) to replace existing. Quantity: Eight (8) - 2-5/8" AZEK(R) Trim crown PVC Molding to replace existing. Proposed Alternative shingle products shall be listed on the Bid Proposal Form. Bidders shall include Manufacture's specifications, literature, and warranty terms. There shall be an additional line item on the Bid Proposal Form for 1" x 2" furring strips for blocking replacement.
