The Town will receive Competitive Sealed Bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of C Taylor Rd. and E. Hickory Hill Rd. Paving Improvements The improvements under this contract include the following approximate quantities: 31,500 SY of 8" Lime-Treated Subgrade 29,000 SY of 5" Type B HMAC Pavement 29,000 SY of 3" Type D HMAC Pavement No Pre-Bid Conference has been scheduled. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank, or a bid bond from a reliable surety company in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute a performance bond and a payment bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to Contractor. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, a material and labor payment bond, and a two (2) year maintenance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any or all irregularities. A Bid security is required in accordance with the Special Instructions to Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn until the expiration of ninety (90) days from the date bids are opened. SCOPE OF WORK The work under this contract includes the removal of the existing roadway paving and construction of new public roads consisting of asphalt pavement. The project also includes constructing minor drainage improvements including a small amount of ditch grading, and cross culverts. There will be approximately 29,000 SY of asphalt paving.
