Background Information: .1 The current Building Automation System (BAS) is a Schneider Electric Andover Continuum control system. This system is the only DDC system that is currently installed in the Board buildings. .2 There is a total of 70 schools in the Board, 56 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools, as well as 2 administration buildings that are currently controlled through our existing BAS system. This encompasses approximately 4,500,000 sq. ft of occupied space and is occupied by over 40,000 staff, students and visitors each day. .3 There are currently 3 schools under construction (replacing a total of 4 schools) and an additional 2 new schools (replacing a total of 4 schools) waiting to be released for tender. .4 The 72 facilities contain a total of 3061 terminal controllers, which are doing a variety of HVAC controls, as well as other building controls. .5 The existing BAS system is comprised of controllers varying in age from new to over 20 years old. .6 There is a total of 20 schools that are currently following the BACnet MS/TP protocol. The remainder of the building are following a proprietary communication protocol (Infinet). .7 There is a 3rd party vendor currently providing Triage services for monitoring of all heating and cooling complaints registered by the occupants of our buildings. Purpose of RFSQ: - The Board will be replacing all the existing BAS controllers over the next 3 years. - The new control system will be a Niagara N4 Tridium platform for all controllers. - It is the intention of this RFSQ to select two (2) vendors of record to provide BAS installation services. - The new system controllers will all reside on a single platform. Naming for all components within the system, alarming, trending, graphics, etc., will follow an approved standard provided by the Board. - The new control system will utilize IP communication controllers only. - There will also be newly installed dedicated controllers to provide direct BACnet MS/TP communication protocol to existing HVAC equipment (there are twenty-two (22) 3rd party BACnet MS/TP devices in the system). The Agreement shall be in effect from the date of notification, which is anticipated to occur in June 2022 for a period of five years ending in June 2027.
