SR 25 is on the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) and the context classification and typical section varies throughout the project limits. North of SR 540 to south of Lincoln Ave, the context classification is C2 and the approved typical section consists of six 12-foot travel lanes, a 40-foot median, and flush shoulders. South of Lincoln Ave to north of Sunburst Rd, the context classification is C3C and the approved typical section consists of six varying width (11.5 to 12-foot) travel lanes, five-foot bicycle lanes in each direction, a 30-foot median, inside (Type E) and outside (Type F) curb and gutter, and an 8-foot sidewalk in each direction. North of Sunburst Rd to south of Crump Rd/W Main St, the context classification is C3C and the approved typical section consists of six 12-foot travel lanes, a 40-foot median, and shoulder gutter on the outside (Type E curb and gutter on the SB median, within the superelevated section). South of Crump Rd/ W Main St to north of W. Lake St, the context classification is C3C and the approved typical section consists of six varying width (11.5 to 12-foot) travel lanes, five-foot bicycle lanes in each direction, a 40- foot median, inside (Type E) and outside (Type F) curb and gutter, and a 6-foot sidewalk in each direction. North of W Lake St to north of CR 546 (Kokomo Rd), the context classification is C2 and the approved typical section consists of six 12-foot travel lanes, a 40-foot median, and flush shoulders. The proposed CR 546 (Kokomo Rd) intersection shall include widening for a right turn lane from westbound CR 546 to northbound SR 25. Right turn shall accommodate the turning movement of a WB62FL design vehicle. Keyhole widening shall be included at the northbound right turn lanes at Peace Creek Road and Kokomo Road to accommodate a 5-foot bicycle lane. Pavement resurfacing and widening depths are included in the Approved Pavement Design. Stormwater treatment and attenuation facilities shall be constructed to meet the requirements of the appropriate permitting agencies. The design of associated conveyance systems shall be compatible with the proposed typical section applicable locations and shall convey stormwater runoff into the stormwater management facilities. Install signing and pavement markings to guide traffic into appropriate travel lanes. The Florida Department of Transportation (Department) (FDOT) has issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit competitive bids and proposals from Proposers for the design, procurement, and construction of the resurfacing of State Road 25 (US 27) from North of State Road 540 (Cypress Gardens Blvd/Waverly Road) to North of CR 546 (Kokomo Road) in Polk County. The proposed CR 546 (Kokomo Road) signalized intersection shall include widening for a right turn lane from westbound CR 546 to northbound State Road 25. Right turn shall accommodate the turning movement of a WB-62FL design vehicle. Keyhole widening shall be included at the northbound right turn lanes at Peace Creek Road and Kokomo Road to accommodate a 5-foot bicycle lane. Pavement resurfacing and widening depths are included in the Approved Pavement Design. Provide permanent lighting for all roadways and pedestrian cross walks at the existing Crump/West Main St signalized intersection and proposed CR 546 (Kokomo Road) signalized intersection. The existing guardrail shall be replaced with a Thrie beam guardrail.
