As of June 6, 2022 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on June 21, 2022. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: abandoning existing sewer lines and manholes, installing new sewer lines and precast concrete manholes, connecting existing laterals to new sewer mains, capping laterals where shown, removing existing portions of pipelines per plans, adjusting manhole frames and utility valve boxes to grade, protection or re-establishment of survey monuments and ties, re-establishing affected striping, markings and markers, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction of the contemplated improvements as indicated on the plans and specifications. The scope of work shall include all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project as outlined herein and on the plans. Location of Work: The work location is Del Mar Avenue from Bencamp Street to Lime Avenue. The contract is to be executed within 14 calendar days after award of contract by City Council. Time for completion of the work is 90 working days for all work. Southern California Edison is currently installing underground utilities in the project area. This sewer installation project is expected to begin construction immediately upon completion of the SCE work, which is anticipated to finish in July 2022 or August 2022. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, cash, or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to City of San Gabriel as a guarantee that the awarded bidder will execute the Contract and provide the required bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements within 7 calendars days of the of the award of contract by City Council. The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 90 calendar days from the date of bid opening. The successful bidder shall be licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a Class "A" California State Contractor's License at the time this contract is awarded and throughout the duration of the contract. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsive. All contractors and subcontractors working in the City of San Gabriel must have a valid City of San Gabriel Business License at the time the contract is awarded. Business licenses can be purchased or renewed at the Finance Department at 425 S Mission Drive, San Gabriel, CA. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code, the Contractor may request the City to make retention payments directly to an escrow agent or may substitute certain securities for money withheld by the City to ensure performance under the Contract. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City.
