Site work and paving for a road / highway in Tyringham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Board of Selectmen are requesting sealed bids for milling the entire width of Main Road starting South of intersection of Beach Road to South of intersection of Barnes Road, adjust structures, tac coat and pave with 2 inches of HMA. approx. 13,070 square yards of milling and 1470 tons of HMA. Bid price shall include all labor, equipment, and material for a complete in place product at Main Road as specified in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dept. of Public Works Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridges (1998) and the Supplemental Specifications of November 30, 1994. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, PAVEMENT SURFACING, for the project with an estimated value of $181,567.50 will be required. Each general bid shall be accompanied by a security or bond in the amount of 5% of the bid price. The successful bidder must furnish a minimum of 50% payment bond. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% performance bond. Wage rates are subject to the minimum wage rates as per MGL CH 149, section 26 to 27F, inclusive. The Selectmen reserve the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
