The services are expected to include: . Equipment and excavation support for Heritage Inspection and Alteration works, including the staged removal of overburden in accordance with procedures developed by the Archaeological Permit Holder. . Equipment support for off-site material hauling and on-site management for the categorizing, movement, and storage of archaeologically sensitive material. . Equipment and material support for Heritage Investigation works, including ongoing maintenance of wet screening areas and stockpile management. . Dewatering and on-site water management; maintenance of haul roads; and site coordination work with other contractors working on site. . Daily coordination with Archaeological Consultant to develop safety and work procedures, establish protocols, and manage work areas and site availability. Coordination with the on-site construction manager and Metro Vancouver project manager. This contract will have an estimated value of up to approximately $15,000,000. The Corporation did not call for competitive bids for the following reasons: . Pomerleau has been working on site since 2018 and has demonstrated experience working with archaeologists and monitors, and providing archaeological support services on large scale Heritage Inspection and Investigation work. . Pomerleau has an established working relationship and communications protocol with the Archaeological Consultant and demonstrated knowledge of archaeological procedures and permitting requirements on large scale archaeological work. . Pomerleau is already working on the ground improvements site, as well as on adjacent project sites, and is uniquely situated to coordinate the work through multiple shared contractor workspaces. . Pomerleau possesses the resources to immediately initiate this service, and have a proven ability to deliver this type of service. . Pomerleau will remain on site throughout the archaeological work to continue and complete current contracted work.
