NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Delta County, Colorado, is soliciting a Request for Quotes (RFQ) to design and engineer the bridge abutments and piers (as needed) for Segment IV Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge will span the North Fork River with the data to be utilized for budgeting, grant applications, environmental analysis, and pre-bid construction. Delta County has survey data available for the abutment and bridge location. A pedestrian and bicycle trail are proposed from Miners Way near the newly renamed North Fork High School located south of Hotchkiss, CO, connecting the High School to the Delta County Fairgrounds and the Town of Hotchkiss. Segment I of the trail begins at Miners Way and traverses north and west following Short Ditch maintenance road before dropping off the ditch to connect to River Ridge Road. Segments II thru V would utilize River Ridge Road north to Hwy. 92, then northwest along the CDOT ROW to Delta County-owned lands both south and north of the North Fork River, connected by a proposed pedestrian bridge, the trail terminating within the Delta County Fairgrounds. The attached map depicts the generalized location of the trail segments. Buckhorn Engineering is developing the design and location of the pedestrian bridge abutments and trail approaches. Selected contractor shall coordinate with Buckhorn Engineering as part of the contract. Others will complete the engineering and construction of the actual bridge.
