Scope of Work: The work includes the elimination of 105 jointed location sand installation of plug rails to be welded in during adjustment procedures (additional 10-20welds). Thermal adjustment to be performed as required in CWR territory for minimum200' either direction of a "closure" type weld. Contractor will only be paid for complete welds that pass the magnetic particle inspection test or ultrasonic testing. Welding will be performed on previously installed 115RE rail and 115RE sections to be installed as plugs where needed.All welding must utilize the electric flash butt welding method. SEPTA estimates this work will be completed in two (2) to three (3) weeks, working weekdays and weekends between the hours of 7am and 3pm approximately. If inclement weather does not permit welding during the scheduled work week, all unfinished work will shift to the following week at no additional cost to SEPTA
