The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education is accepting bids from masonry contractors for a masonry renovation project at Harrison Street Elementary School and Williamsburg Elementary School in Geneva, Illinois. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: brick masonry repair, brick masonry repointing, and sealants. The work sites are Harrison Street Elementary School, 201 N. Harrison Street, and Williamsburg Elementary School, 1812 Williamsburg Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date. Required prequalification documentation listed in the Project Manual must be submitted in Adobe PDF format to the District's Architect via the email address listed above on or before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022. A Bidder's failure to submit the required prequalification documentation will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final Contract Sum. The Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
